Software Developer – User Interface Plugin at Emerson

As a Software Developer, you’ll be designing and building the visual interface – the part people actually *see* and interact with – for field devices using HTML5. You’ll also be responsible for making sure everything works smoothly by troubleshooting and fixing any issues that come up. A big part of the job involves creating device descriptions using standards like EDDL and FDI, which allow these devices to connect easily to larger control systems. You’ll get to experiment with new ideas too, building prototypes to test out different technologies. You’ll be working with other engineers, so teamwork is important. You’ll also be improving existing interfaces by understanding how they work and making them even better.
We’re looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a similar field. Experience with device descriptions (EDDL, FDI) and web technologies like HTML5 and JavaScript is key. Knowing Embedded C/C++ and UI frameworks like Qt, Angular, or React would be a big plus. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols like HART or PROFIBUS is also helpful. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate clearly are essential.
This position is located in India and is a hybrid role, meaning you’ll work both from the office and remotely.
