Senior Software Engineer – Back End (Singapore) — Senior Software Engineer – Back End (Singapore) Join Agoda’s Platform team to build high‑throughput, fault‑tolerant services that power travel for millions of users. You’ll work on core systems—inventory, pricing, bookings, payments—using modern languages and cloud‑native tooling, all while shaping a product that reaches shoppers worldwide. What You’ll Do Design and deliver scalable APIs for inventory, pricing and booking flows. Implement self‑healing services that handle extreme traffic spikes. Write automated tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines for zero‑downtime releases. Collaborate with product, data and partner engineers to integrate new features. Optimize database queries and storage for high‑performance RDBMS workloads. Monitor production health and troubleshoot issues in real time. What You Need 5+ years developing performance‑critical applications with Scala, Java, Kotlin, C# or Go. Strong expertise in relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.). Proven ability to design and implement scalable system architectures. Daily hands‑on coding experience delivering production‑ready software. Excellent command of English for cross‑team communication. Experience building advanced CI/CD pipelines and robust testing strategies. Passion for continuous learning and software craftsmanship. Good to Have Working knowledge of NoSQL stores and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ). Experience with Play Framework or similar web frameworks.
