SDE (Software Development Engineer) — SDE – Mumbai | Full-time Build the backend engines that power consumer‑facing apps for a fast‑growing Y‑Combinator startup. You’ll own the design, implementation, and deployment of high‑performance microservices, working side‑by‑side with front‑end engineers and product managers. This role offers a chance to shape scalable APIs while leveraging AI‑assisted development tools to boost productivity. What You’ll Do Design and develop Java‑based microservices with Spring Boot and Spring JPA. Create secure, high‑throughput REST APIs for consumer applications. Optimize PostgreSQL/MySQL schemas and write performance‑tuned SQL queries. Implement caching with Redis and event‑driven pipelines using Kafka or RabbitMQ. Containerise services with Docker and run them on AWS ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, or Lambda. Monitor production health, troubleshoot incidents, and tune system performance. Apply AI‑driven coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery. What You Need 3+ years of backend development experience. Strong hands‑on Java, Spring Boot, and Spring JPA expertise. Proven track record with microservice architecture and RESTful API design. Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL, SQL optimization, and relational modeling. Practical experience with Redis caching and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS). Proficiency in Docker, AWS ECS, and core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda). Solid Git workflow, CI/CD pipelines, and testing best practices. Good to Have Experience using AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT. Familiarity with serverless patterns and Lambda functions.
