Role Overview
We are hiring Senior Developers (5–10 years) to work on Fiserv’s Vision Next platform — a next-generation, cloud-native, real-time, API-first card management and issuing platform (evolution of VisionPLUS / FirstVision).
Vision Next is modular, highly configurable, SaaS-oriented, and designed for agility, scalability, and rapid product launches for banks, issuers, and fintechs. It supports full card lifecycle management (credit, debit, prepaid, commercial, BNPL, etc.), real-time event processing, authorizations, postings, and integrations via modern APIs. The platform emphasizes cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven patterns.
You will design, develop, and enhance high-scale, resilient services and APIs on this platform while collaborating with client (Fiserv) and internal teams in an Agile setup. Location preference: Pune.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and backend components for Vision Next card management, event management, authorization, posting, account servicing, and related modules.
• Build and integrate cloud-native, distributed systems supporting high-throughput, real-time transaction processing, event sourcing, and notifications.
• Implement API-first solutions with proper versioning, security (OAuth2/JWT, API Gateways), documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger), and developer experience focus.
• Work on event-driven architectures (Kafka or equivalent messaging), real-time data pipelines, rules engines, and self-service configuration capabilities.
• Collaborate on solution design, technical specifications, code reviews, unit/integration testing, performance tuning, and production support.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployments.
• Troubleshoot complex issues in distributed environments, perform root-cause analysis, and drive reliability/scalability improvements.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical best practices, coding standards, and knowledge sharing on the platform.
• Ensure compliance with payments industry standards, security, and regulatory requirements (card schemes, PCI considerations where applicable).
Required Skills & Experience (5–10 years overall)
Must-have technical skills:
• Strong hands-on experience building API-driven systems (RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, API Gateways such as Apigee/AWS API Gateway or equivalent).
• Expertise in cloud-based distributed systems: microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), high availability, scalability, and resilience patterns.
• Core language & frameworks: Java (8+/11+/17+ preferred) with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data/JPA, Hibernate; experience with reactive or event-driven styles is a strong plus.
• Messaging & event-driven: Apache Kafka (or RabbitMQ/equivalent), event sourcing, real-time processing.
• Cloud platforms: Hands-on with AWS, Azure, or GCP (services such as EKS/ECS/GKE, Lambda/Functions, managed databases, monitoring, IAM, etc.).
• Databases: Relational (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) + familiarity with NoSQL where relevant; strong SQL and data modeling.
• DevOps & quality: CI/CD (Jenkins/GitLab/GitHub Actions/ArgoCD), Git, Maven/Gradle, unit testing (JUnit/Mockito), code quality tools (SonarQube), monitoring (Dynatrace/Splunk or similar).
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
Domain & platform preference (highly desirable):
• Prior exposure to Fiserv VisionPLUS / FirstVision / card issuing platforms (CMS, FAS, TRAMS, account management, authorization/posting flows, card lifecycle) is a significant advantage — candidates with VisionPLUS background who have moved or can transition to modern API/cloud stacks are ideal.
• Payments / cards / issuing domain knowledge (authorization, clearing/settlement concepts, scheme awareness — Visa/Mastercard, etc.).
• Experience modernizing legacy card platforms toward API-first / cloud-native architectures.
Soft skills:
• Strong problem-solving, analytical ability, and ownership in complex distributed systems.
• Excellent communication for client (Fiserv) and cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to work in a delivery-oriented services model supporting a major client platform.
Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
Nice-to-have:
• Experience with Quarkus or other modern Java frameworks.
• GraphQL, gRPC, or advanced API patterns.
• Frontend exposure (Angular/React) for full-stack contributions.
• Security best practices, observability, and performance engineering in high-volume financial systems.
• Prior work on LTI/Fiserv or similar large-scale BFSI engagements.
Probable Companies / Sources in Pune for Candidates
Target talent pools with VisionPLUS / card processing / Fiserv ecosystem experience or strong Java + microservices + cloud + payments backgrounds:
• Fiserv itself (Pune has active VisionPLUS / related roles — developers, testers, tech leads).
• Synechron (frequent VisionPLUS CMS/FAS developer openings in Pune).
• LTIMindtree / LTI (internal mobility + related banking/cards projects).
• Other major IT services with cards/payments practices: Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro, HCLTech, Tech Mahindra.
• Niche / mid-size players active in cards domain: Softpath Technologies, Verinite, Human Horizon / similar, and other BFSI-focused pure-plays or captives.
• Broader fintech / payments talent: companies working on issuer processing, digital banking cores, or API platforms (look for people with Java + Kafka + Spring Boot + AWS/Azure + cards/payments keywords).
