Manager, Software Engineering (Java, Cloud, Microservices, Architecture)

You’ll lead and mentor engineers, drive cloud‑native microservice architecture, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver high‑impact platforms. What You'll Do Design and ship scalable Java microservices and APIs for real‑time data access. Conduct code reviews, manage pull requests, and enforce 12‑factor app standards. Coach engineers on best practices, CI/CD, and cloud enablement. Partner with product and analytics leaders to align technology with business goals. Lead agile delivery, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and performance benchmarking. Drive engineering productivity, quality metrics, and compliance with Mastercard policies. Recruit, hire, and develop high‑performing software engineering talent. What You Need 9–12 years of Java development, including Java 11+ and Spring ecosystem. Proven people‑management experience leading full‑stack engineering teams. Deep knowledge of microservices patterns, event‑driven architecture, and resiliency. Hands‑on expertise with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and serverless/cloud platforms. Experience designing and optimizing high‑volume data access solutions. Strong command of API design (OpenAPI/Swagger) and relational databases (SQL). Excellent communication skills for stakeholder and senior‑leadership interaction. Good to Have Experience with Azure, AWS, or PCF cloud environments. Familiarity with React or front‑end technologies. Background in big data strategy and streaming analytics.
