Java Backend Developer – IT Payment Services

Join a fast‑moving payments technology team delivering high‑throughput, secure Java services for billions of transactions each year. You’ll work in an Agile, DevOps‑centric environment, collaborating with product owners, compliance and operations to keep the platform reliable and innovative. What You’ll Do Translate functional specs into clean Java 21/Spring Boot 4 designs and code. Build and enhance RESTful and event‑driven services with Kafka, MongoDB and Elasticsearch. Develop batch processes for CSV ingestion and data synchronization across systems. Write unit, integration and contract tests using JUnit 5, Testcontainers, and BDD/TDD practices. Participate in sprint ceremonies, code reviews and mentor peers on best practices. Diagnose production incidents, ensure security compliance and document APIs in OpenAPI/Swagger. What You Need 4–8 years of Java development experience in an Agile setting. Strong proficiency with Java 21, Spring Boot 4, Spring Batch and REST APIs. Hands‑on experience building event‑driven systems using Kafka, MongoDB and Elasticsearch. Solid unit‑testing skills with JUnit 5 and Testcontainers; familiarity with BDD/TDD. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab‑CI) and containerisation (Docker, ArgoCD). Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; fluent English communication. Good to Have Knowledge of OpenShift or Kubernetes orchestration. Familiarity with Kibana for log analytics. Exposure to NiFi or Kafka Connect.
