You’ll design and build scalable backend services that power Target’s retail platform. The role focuses on integrating generative AI, ensuring reliability, and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑moving team.
What You’ll Do
- Build high‑performance microservices using Java/Kotlin.
- Integrate LLMs and GenAI features into core applications.
- Design and maintain observability for production reliability.
- Implement secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
- Collaborate on AI‑driven automation and agentic frameworks.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and automated testing suites.
- Optimize data access across NoSQL and SQL databases.
What You Need
- 2–4 years software design and backend development experience.
- Strong Java and Python proficiency with JVM frameworks.
- Microservices architecture and Spring Boot/Micronaut expertise.
- Experience with LLM integration and agentic AI automation.
- Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, and event‑driven patterns.
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services.
Good to Have
- Functional programming concepts in Kotlin.
- GraphQL API design and integration.
