The role of a BASIS Administrator at Comcast involves providing support for daily operations across NBCU SAP Estate, overseeing and being accountable for global incident/event/request queues. You will be responsible for critical incident response, assessing, troubleshooting, escalating, and engaging resources across all teams for incident resolution and service restoration. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will collaborate with project teams located globally.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing SAP security note releases, guiding the team in testing and application, applying SAP OSS notes, establishing system monitoring alerts and thresholds, implementing system performance tuning improvements, performing SAP Kernel upgrades, maintaining and configuring the SAP GUI, assisting in investigation and resolution of database problems, monitoring server backup jobs, troubleshooting system performance issues, and maintaining the SAP Fiori environment. You will also be involved in SAP applications and databases installation, monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and following protocols and standards specific to SAP large-scale implementation.
To excel in this role, you should have at least 3 years of experience in SAP Basis Administration for SAP ERP, SAP Netweaver, SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP Web Dispatcher. You should be familiar with SAP system copy, client copy, transport management system, SAP Fiori environment, SAP & SAP HANA on AWS public cloud, and integrating 3rd party applications required for change management process, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Additionally, you should possess a general understanding of system administration and development life cycle methodologies, knowledge of SAP Basis administration, RHEL/Oracle Linux/SUSE Linux Server operating system, database administration, ability to apply SAP enhancement packages and upgrades, and understanding of SAP application architecture and technology. Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and time zones.
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Linux operating systems, networking concepts related to SAP environments, AWS concepts, SAP HANA, SAP MaxDB, and other database systems. Exposure to Redwood Cronacle, SAP BRIM Solution, and experience with various solutions such as BSI TaxFactory, BTI Active Control, and Jira is advantageous.
Ideally, you should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, with at least 3 years of SAP Basis administration experience and experience with Linux Server and deployments to AWS or other Cloud environments.
