Junior Project Architect

Vivek Shankar Architects is a growing architecture firm known for innovative and thoughtful design. We focus on creating spaces that offer a great experience for the people who use them, and we’re expanding into new project types and markets.

As a Junior Project Architect, you’ll be involved in all stages of a project, starting from understanding what the client wants and developing initial design ideas. You’ll work closely with a technical team to create detailed designs, prepare documents for construction, and even visit the building site to make sure everything is going according to plan. You’ll be preparing presentations and sketches, and coordinating with structural and services engineers. You’ll also be responsible for making sure the quality of work from your team is excellent and meets our firm’s standards.

We’re looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (a Master’s is a plus!) and ideally 2-3 years of experience working in a design office. Knowing software like Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is really helpful. Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper, or BIM and parametric design, would be a big advantage. Good communication skills, both written and spoken English, are important, as is the ability to work well in a team. An understanding of sustainable design is also appreciated.
