Lead MERN backend developer + Devops Engineer (Live Ops / On-Call / Hotfix)
Experience: 5-8+ years preferred (5–6 years with strong live ops experience considered)
Role Overview
We operate a 24/7 live platform with multiple Kubernetes-managed instances of the same core application. We are seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to own service stability, hotfix handling, and code quality in production. This role works closely with DevOps for deployments and takes direct action during critical incidents (P0/P1), including urgent hotfixes and rollbacks.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain stability and quality for multiple Kubernetes-managed instances of a single core application
• Respond to critical live incidents with rapid diagnosis, hotfix deployment, and rollback when needed
• Lead code reviews, enforce quality standards, and drive refactoring priorities
• Collaborate with DevOps for releases; perform urgent deployments directly when required
• Improve and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting workflows
• Mentor SE-level engineers to ensure production readiness of all code changes
Must-Have Skills
• 5-8+ years backend engineering experience (Node.js preferred)
• 5–6 years acceptable with strong live operations and on-call track record
• Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL), familiarity with MongoDB
• Proven experience in transaction-heavy systems (financial, payments, wallets, or similar)
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience — managing multiple instances, deployments, rollbacks, scaling
• Solid understanding of CI/CD workflows and production monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana preferred)
Nice-to-Have
• Experience in high-volume transaction platforms
• Familiarity with hotfix branching strategies and quick rollback mechanisms
