Lead Software Engineer – Python

Primary Responsibilities Of The Role

The engineer will be responsible for Goodyear Mobility Cloud, a cloud-based software platform that captures data from vehicles (Devices and Integrations), Curates data into usable insights via algorithms, and presents insights for customers to consume and act on.
• You will lead the design and development of Python-based applications and services
• You will implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services
• You will mentor and guide the Python development team, promoting best practices and code quality
• You will collaborate with data scientists and analysts to implement data processing pipelines
• You will participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making
• You will ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of Python applications on AWS
• You will stay current with Python ecosystem developments, AWS services, and industry best practices

Primary Requirements
• You have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• You have 7+ years of experience in Python development, with at least 3 years in a lead role
• You have strong proficiency in Python and its major frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI)
• You have experience with data processing libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy)
• You have familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop)
• You have knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation
• You have solid understanding of AWS services and cloud architecture
• You are AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty certification preferred
• You have the following knowledge and skills:
• Python Programming
• Web framework expertise (Django, Flask, or FastAPI)
• Data processing and analysis
• Database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
• API development
• AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, SageMaker, EMR)
• Infrastructure as Code (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Terraform)
• Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• DevOps practices
• Agile methodologies
• You have significant experience working with Lambda
