What You’ll Do
- Own backend architecture, document key technical decisions.
- Set engineering standards for code, security, deployment.
- Advise on technical risk, effort, cost for new projects.
- Evaluate and select tools, partners, and specialist support.
- Design, build, maintain Python/PHP APIs and services.
- Optimize performance, reliability, security of backend services.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitor, respond to incidents.
What You Need
- 5‑7 years of senior backend development experience.
- Proficient in Python and PHP with commercial projects.
- Hands‑on GCP experience, Docker, CI/CD practices.
- Expertise in REST and GraphQL API design.
- Strong authentication/SSO skills (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML).
- Database design, relational/NoSQL, query optimisation.
- Clear communication with non‑technical stakeholders.
Good to Have
- Experience with Vercel front‑end deployments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or orchestration.
