Join a fast‑moving migration program translating legacy C and Pro*C applications from AIX to Red Hat Linux. You’ll leverage C, Python and AI‑assisted tooling to ensure functional parity and modern DevOps pipelines.
What You’ll Do
- Port C/Pro*C code from AIX to Linux, fixing header and compiler issues.
- Build and troubleshoot applications on RHEL, ensuring runtime parity with AIX.
- Create Python scripts for source extraction, makefile generation, and artifact management.
- Design GitHub Actions pipelines for compile, test, package, and deploy stages.
- Develop AI‑driven utilities for portability analysis, impact assessment, and documentation.
- Automate deployment and rollback procedures, producing runbooks and validation reports.
What You Need
- 6‑8 years of C and Pro*C development on Unix/Linux.
- Hands‑on experience migrating AIX applications to Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Proficiency with Python automation and shell scripting.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle/Pro*C integration and SQL parity testing.
- Expertise in PVCS and Git/GitHub source control.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar tools.
Good to Have
- Familiarity with Nexus Repository or GitHub Packages for artifact storage.
- Experience with C unit‑testing frameworks such as cmocka, Unity, or CUnit.
- Ability to create AI agents or GitHub Copilot extensions for migration assistance.
