Ericsson is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to join our team in India. This role focuses on the design, development, and operation of highly scalable backend services and APIs. You will primarily work with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and RESTful technologies, and experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks is a plus.
Responsibilities include designing and building secure, backward-compatible REST APIs; architecting microservices with a focus on resiliency and observability; implementing clean, object-oriented code; and optimizing performance through multithreading and concurrency. You will be responsible for ensuring code quality through unit testing (JUnit), code reviews, and documentation. The role also involves containerizing and deploying applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, collaborating within CI/CD pipelines using Git/GitLab, and working in Agile teams to deliver features from development to production. Contributing to event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka/Confluent Kafka and supporting front-end development with Angular or React are also key aspects of the position. A product engineering mindset with an emphasis on maintainability, scalability, and user impact is highly valued.
Candidates must have 5-8 years of backend development experience with a B.E./B.Tech degree or equivalent. Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, a strong understanding of microservices architecture, solid unit testing skills using JUnit, proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, experience with Git/GitLab, familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, and hands-on knowledge of multithreading and concurrency in Java are essential.
Beneficial skills include experience with Apache Kafka/Confluent Kafka, front-end frameworks like Angular, React, or TypeScript/JavaScript, GitLab CI/CD pipeline development, and exposure to Python and/or C++. Experience with cloud-native architecture and open-source contributions is also a plus.
