Technical Skills
• DevOps Tools: Jenkins or Circle CI/CD, Maven, Ant, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Cloud Platforms: AWS (EC2, EBS, S3, CloudFront, RDS, Redis, EKS).
• Monitoring Tools: AWS Cloud watch, Honeycomb, Datadog.
• Scripting: Linux (Shell scripts, Commands, Ansible, some admin level knowledge, Python).
• Web Severs: Tomcat, Apache.
• Database: Oracle, SQL, SQL Plus.
Job Description for DevOps Engineer
• Manage build and deployments for all the lower environments (Jenkins, Shell Scripts, Linux, Tomcat, Maven, Apache, Ant, Docker).
• Manage Deployments for Production (Linux, Shell Scripts, AWS).
• Work closely with the onsite teams and support during US Pacific Timezone on a rotation basis.
• Administer all servers databases in the lower environments like:
• Oracle DB Administration, SQL, SQL Plus.
• Linux System Administration.
• Handle site Reliability including:
• Pager Duty.
• Debug and identify the problem, provide a temporary fix, apply SQL fixes.
• Java, Linux, Shell Scripts, Oracle Database.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills to Investigate and resolve technical issues, provide production L2 support.
• Manage AWS services such as:
• EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, S3, CloudFront, RDS, EKS, Redis, etc.
• MySQL, PostgreSQL DB.
• Handle scheduled Jobs such as:
• Scheduled (Cron) jobs maintenance.
• Periodic checks of UAT file systems on AWS (App Storage, S3 Storage).
• Manage Observability as follows:
• Datadog ,Honeycomb.
• Raw Logs (scripts to output required data from the logs).
• Setting up monitoring alert triggers.
• ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) used for lower environment.
• Miscellaneous Tasks:
• Shrink Database – Understand and run the database scripts weekly.
• Database Refresh – Understand scripts to run/modify/maintain DB refresh scripts.
• Scripts for data exchange with external systems.
• AWS Cost Management.
• Kaltura management.
• Scripts for Auditing purposes.
• Docker knowledge to manage servers.
• F5 Load Balancer (For production and UAT).
• A10 (For TEST).
Mandatory Requirements
• Ability to handle technical tasks independently.
• Must be strong at scripting, SQL and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be a team player supporting US onsite teams overlapping with PST timezone on a rotation basis.
• Effective time management to meet deadlines and technical specifications.
• Ensuring requirements are adequately defined.
• Collaborate with onsite development team.
• Good writing and Communication Skills are essential.
• Quick adaptability to new challenges.
