As a senior mobile hire at Slikk, a Series A fashion quick-commerce startup, your role will involve owning the entire mobile platform strategy. This includes defining the architecture, performance, team processes, and technical direction of the Slikk app, which plays a crucial role in user interaction and conversion metrics.
Your key responsibilities will include:
– Owning mobile architecture end-to-end, including module structure, navigation, data layer, and component systems.
– Leading the migration to React Native new architecture (Fabric, TurboModules, JSI) to drive measurable performance gains.
– Architecting complex e-commerce experiences such as personalised feeds, real-time tracking, Try & Buy, checkout, and instant returns.
– Defining mobile engineering standards for testing, CI/CD (EAS Build, CodePush), release management, and observability (Sentry).
– Mentoring and growing mobile engineers through pairing, architectural guidance, and code reviews.
To qualify for this role, you should have:
– 810 years of mobile experience, with at least 5 years of shipping production React Native at scale.
– Expertise in RN internals like bridge, Fabric, TurboModules, Hermes, JSI, and native module authoring.
– Deep proficiency in TypeScript and strong opinions on state management, architecture, and testing.
– Comfort in Swift and/or Kotlin for native modules and debugging.
– A proven track record of improving app performance metrics (TTI, frame rates, crash-free rates) with data.
– Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Fastlane, EAS Build), push notifications, and deep linking.
