Responsibilities
Design and implement features and functionality for WordPress websites.
Customise themes and plugins according to client requirements.
Develop and maintain WordPress-based websites using the latest technologies and best practices. Collaborate with designers, marketing teams and other developers to ensure the best possible user experience. Optimise websites for speed, performance, and SEO.
Ability to optimise WordPress websites for speed and performance using techniques like caching, image optimization, and minimising scripts is a key requirement.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing WordPress websites.
Awareness of WordPress security vulnerabilities and how to safeguard sites from common threats (e.g., SQL injection, XSS, brute force attacks) is crucial. This includes experience with security plugins and manual hardening techniques.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in WordPress development.
Proficient in PHP programming language.
Good understanding of front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery.
Experience building responsive and mobile-friendly websites.
Familiarity with MySQL database management.
Familiarity with PHP and MySQL is necessary for handling WordPress back-end tasks such as database management, custom queries, and implementing advanced functionalities. Experience with REST APIs and AJAX would be an advantage.
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of other PHP CMS like Magento, Joomla would be an added advantage.
Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development/customization will be a big plus.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
A passion for web development and a strong desire to continually learn and grow as a developer.
Requirements :-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in WordPress development, with a strong portfolio demonstrating custom theme and plugin development. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
Extensive experience with WordPress theme development, including responsive design principles.
Expertise in customising and extending WordPress functionality using hooks, filters, and APIs.
Solid understanding of WordPress core concepts such as custom post types, taxonomies, and custom fields.
Experience with popular WordPress plugins and frameworks such as WooCommerce, ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), and WPML (WordPress Multilingual Plugin).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
