Bombay Softwares needs a solid Python engineer who can build and maintain backend systems. Three-plus years wrestling with Django or Flask is non-negotiable – we’re not training juniors here. You’ll be designing APIs, optimising database performance, and generally ensuring things scale without falling over. Expect to get your hands dirty with Linux, relational databases, and Redis.
Strong version control skills are essential, as is a grasp of ORM libraries and deployment processes. Experience with SQL Alchemy is a definite plus. We expect you to write clean, testable code and participate actively in peer reviews – no lone wolves. This isn’t just about coding, though; you’ll be mentoring others and, eventually, delegating tasks.
The team is small – around eight engineers – and we’re at that exciting stage where we’re building out core infrastructure to support rapid growth, which means things change quickly. Proficiency in a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Docker experience would be highly valued, though not mandatory. And, frankly, you’ll need to be comfortable juggling client expectations alongside technical challenges.
