Backend Developer (Mid) — Node.js / Express — Backend Developer – India Build API‑first microservices for a growing product suite and integrate them with external and internal systems. You’ll own secure, versioned REST APIs on Node.js + Express, working from patterns set by the backend lead—perfect for engineers who love clean code and security. What You’ll Do Design and develop secure, versioned REST APIs on Node.js + Express. Integrate third‑party services using correlation IDs, retries, circuit breakers, and idempotency keys. Implement OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, RBAC, OTP, session handling and audit logging. Model data, write queries and manage transactions in PostgreSQL; use Redis for caching and sessions. Apply OWASP best practices: input validation, parameterized queries, secrets handling. Write automated unit/integration tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. Document APIs, runbooks and maintain OpenAPI 3.x specifications. What You Need 3+ years of Node.js and Express development experience. Strong hands‑on skill building REST APIs with asynchronous patterns. Proficient in PostgreSQL schema design, complex queries and transaction management. Experience using Redis for caching, session or token storage. Implemented OAuth2/OIDC, JWT and role‑based access control in production. Built resilient integrations with retries, circuit breakers and idempotency. Comfortable with Docker containers and CI/CD workflows. Good to Have Experience with microservice scaling, message queues or event‑driven architecture. Familiarity with OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing. Knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration.
