Data Science & AI Specialist – Bengaluru Join ABB’s Automation Digital team to design cutting‑edge AI and optimization solutions for large‑scale industrial assets. You’ll turn complex process data into actionable models that make factories leaner, cleaner, and more reliable. What You’ll Do Build scalable machine‑learning models for equipment health, failure detection, and life‑extension. Design and implement process‑control and scheduling algorithms for industrial analytics. Integrate optimization routines (e.g., MILP, NLP, TSP) into ABB’s proprietary tools. Develop prototype “Proof of Concept” apps and visualizations for customer demos. Validate models through statistical testing, feature analysis, and empirical evaluation. Collaborate with Business Units and customers to tailor solutions to real‑world needs. What You Need 4‑8 years developing optimization workflows for process‑industry analytics. PhD / M.Tech / MS in Statistics, Operations Research, or relevant engineering discipline. Strong Python programming (preferred); R or MATLAB acceptable. Hands‑on experience with SciPy Optimize, Google OR‑Tools, and MATLAB Optimization Toolbox. Familiarity with deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Knowledge of industrial equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines) and control‑system theory (MPC, state‑space). Good to Have Experience with commercial solvers like IBM CPLEX or Gurobi. Exposure to meta‑heuristic algorithms and platforms such as Modelica or Simulink. Basic proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and MLflow for model deployment.
