The job responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code according to coding standards. You will review other code to ensure it meets the same standards. It is your responsibility to define the architecture of the software solution and implement software based on specifications of varying complexity. You will be required to make design changes to enhance quality, performance, reduce costs, and standardize the system through design analysis and problem-solving techniques. Interacting with customers directly or indirectly, attending customer meetings, and responding to inquiries regarding function and design will be part of your role. You should be able to design and implement alternative methodologies or techniques to achieve desired results. Additionally, you are expected to have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and delivery methodology, provide guidance on new procedures for developing high-quality systems, offer technical training to team members, and participate in the creation and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and work instructions. Keeping abreast of technical advances, evaluating new hardware/software for company use, automating tests, unit testing applications, participating in engineering projects, and potentially leading small projects are also key responsibilities. Lastly, writing technical documentation for applications is an essential part of the role.
Minimum qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, along with 6 years of relevant experience.
In summary, this role involves designing, developing, coding, and customizing software applications from initial conception to the end-user interface. You will be analyzing and understanding customer requirements and preferences to incorporate them into the design and development process.
