As a Ruby on Rails Full-Stack Developer at Mapulus, you will be part of a dynamic team working on a location intelligence platform that assists businesses in answering complex where questions. Mapulus offers advanced geospatial analytics, mapping, and optimization tools to industries such as healthcare, construction, and logistics, empowering them to operate more efficiently and make smarter decisions.
In this role, your responsibilities will include building and maintaining full-stack features using Ruby on Rails and Stimulus + Hotwire. You will work with PostGIS/PostgreSQL for advanced spatial data handling and implement interactive mapping features using Mapbox, Google Maps APIs, and Deck.gl. Designing scalable and performant Rails APIs for geospatial data visualization and enhancing UX/UI for mapping and dashboards within a Hotwire-based architecture will also be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will optimize performance for large datasets and real-time updates while writing and maintaining tests using MiniTest (with WebMock and VCR for API stubbing).
The ideal candidate for this position will have strong experience with Ruby on Rails and Hotwire/Stimulus. Experience with PostgreSQL, particularly with PostGIS for spatial queries, is highly desired. Comfort with Turbo Streams and real-time updates in Rails apps, familiarity with RESTful APIs and data visualization, and the ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code are essential for success in this role.
It would be advantageous to have experience with geospatial tools and mapping libraries such as Mapbox, Deck.gl, Turf.js, H3, as well as familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. Knowledge of background job systems like Sidekiq and expertise in large dataset performance optimization are considered as additional assets. Previous experience in SaaS or analytics-heavy products is also a plus.
Joining Mapulus offers you the opportunity to work on geospatial challenges that have a significant impact on healthcare, construction, and logistics industries. You will contribute to building meaningful software that makes location intelligence accessible while being part of an early-stage startup where your work directly influences core product evolution. Mapulus provides a flexible and remote-first work culture, allowing you to thrive in a collaborative and innovative environment.,
