Senior Applications Developer : Ab Initio, Bigdata — Senior Applications Developer – India | Full time Join a fast‑moving technology team that builds enterprise‑scale data pipelines for critical financial‑crime compliance. You’ll use Python, PySpark and Ab Initio to turn massive, regulated datasets into actionable insights, while shaping the future of Citi’s data platform. What You’ll Do Design and deliver high‑performance data pipelines with Ab Initio, Python and PySpark. Develop and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and data‑warehouse solutions. Build and maintain ETL processes on Hadoop, Hive, Kafka and Spark ecosystems. Write and consume RESTful APIs and integrate cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP). Conduct code reviews, enforce standards and mentor junior engineers. Diagnose performance bottlenecks and resolve production incidents. Collaborate with architects, data scientists and compliance analysts on KYC projects. What You Need 8 + years in applications development or senior engineering roles. Expert‑level Python (Pandas, NumPy, Flask/Django) and PySpark programming. Strong hands‑on experience with Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka and big‑data storage formats. Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with major RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB). Experience with Ab Initio and cloud data services (EMR, Databricks, Azure Synapse). CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Git version control and unit/integration testing (pytest, Spark testing tools). Good to Have Exposure to AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for intelligent KYC solutions. Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory or AWS Step Functions. Prior work in regulated financial environments and KYC/financial‑crime domains.
