Senior Data Engineer

Majid Al Futtaim is a leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia. We’re looking for a Data Engineer to help us build and maintain the systems that power our data-driven decisions.

You’ll be building data pipelines – basically, the routes data takes from where it’s collected to where it’s used for analysis. This involves designing, developing, and making sure these pipelines are reliable and can handle lots of information. You’ll also be transforming raw data into formats that are easy for data scientists and analysts to work with. A big part of the role is working with different teams to understand what data they need and then creating the technical solutions to get it to them. You’ll be involved in building and maintaining data storage systems too, making sure the data is accurate and secure. You’ll also need to keep an eye on how things are running and fix any problems that come up, and document everything clearly.

We’re looking for someone with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. You should have practical experience with Databricks and Apache Airflow, and be comfortable using Apache Spark with Python or Scala. Strong SQL skills are important, as is experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Knowing about data lakes, data warehouses, and version control systems like Git would be great.

This position is based in Bharatpur and is a 6-month contract.
