Sr Azure Data Engineer – Kochi Join a fast‑growing tech services firm to lead end‑to‑end migration of on‑premise SQL workloads to Azure. You’ll build robust data pipelines, design secure data lakes, and collaborate with cloud architects to deliver high‑performance, cost‑effective solutions. This is a pure Azure role for engineers who love tackling complex data‑migration challenges. What You’ll Do Lead large‑scale SQL workload migrations from on‑premise to Azure with zero data loss. Design, develop, and orchestrate ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory or Synapse. Build and manage scalable Azure Data Lakes for structured and unstructured data. Perform advanced data transformations with Azure Databricks, Spark Pools, Python, and PySpark. Write and optimise T‑SQL scripts for extraction, cleansing, and reporting in Azure SQL services. Re‑engineer SSIS packages for Azure compatibility and maintain the ETL ecosystem. Monitor, tune, and automate data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. What You Need 3+ years hands‑on data‑engineering experience, focusing on SQL migration to Azure. Deep expertise with Azure Data Factory / Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Databricks. Strong SQL/T‑SQL scripting skills across Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, and SQL Server. Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data processing. Experience redesigning SSIS packages for cloud deployment. Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in Azure environments. Good to Have Experience working with Azure Synapse Spark Pools. Familiarity with cloud‑native CI/CD pipelines for data projects.
